Sizing Chart
All of the following descriptions are meant solely to give you direction on how to pick the right size product for your dog. We can’t guarantee that any product will fit perfect everytime. All of our vendors have done an excellent job designing products to fit as many dogs as possible, but just how every dog is different, so is every fit. If after reading the appropriate guideline section below, you still feel unsure of how to pick the right size, please don’t hesitate to contact us. The more information you can give us the better, i.e; breed and any measurements. Send questions to: info@miaandmaggie.com
Shop ClothingClothing Guide
1. Measure your dog from base of the neck to base of the tail. That measurement will help you evaluate where a jacket, sweater, or shirt will end on your dog. Again, because dogs come in all shapes and sizes, fit will vary greatly for each dog.
2. Measure the chest at its widest point, which is usually an inch or so behind the front legs. This measurement is most important for jackets and items with no fabric stretch. The length of the jacket can be shorter (approximately 6 inches) or slightly longer (no more than 1 inch) however the chest measurement needs to be exact or slightly larger.
Shop CollarsCollar Guide
1. Measuring for a collar should be pretty painless. We suggest using a sewing tape measure or a piece of rope and then measuring the length of the rope. All you have to do is measure the circumfrence around the middle of your dog’s neck. Now if your dog has thick fur, you should make sure that the tape or rope is snug, but make sure you can stick two fingers in between the rope and your dog’s neck. That way the collar won’t choke your dog, but it will also be secure enough not to slip off over their head. If you have a puppy, be sure to use the “two-finger” test often.
Shop HarnessesHarness Guide
1. To measure your dog for a harness, begin by measuring your dog’s neck size (follow our guidelines as stated above in the collar section). Then you need to measure your dogs girth, or the widest part of their rib cage. We suggest taking your measurement a 1/2” behind their front legs. We recommend using the same measuring tools as stated above for collars. As always if your dog doesn’t quite fit one size perfect, then select the next size up. Also if you measuring a puppy, be sure to use the “two-finger” test often (you should be able to stick two fingers underneath the measuring tool).
Shop BeddingBedding
1. To measure your dog for bedding, measure from the tip of you dogs nose to the base of his/her tail. We suggest adding a foot (12”) to that measurement so that your dog will lay comfortably on the padding. If for some reason we have not provided the dimensions for the particular bed you are interested in, please let us now and we will measure it asap for you.
